SUMMARY:No Idyll Hands! Climber Stewardship Day
DESCRIPTION:The Idyllwild Climbers Alliance holds its annual No Idyll Hands stewardship day on Saturday\, June 13\, 2026\, in the Tahquitz and Suicide rock areas above Idyllwild. It is a work day for the people who climb there\, and the ICA has a full project list lined up alongside a silent auction and a gear swap. \nThe service work this year covers trail maintenance and graffiti removal on the signs near the Suicide Rock climbers trail. Crews will also set the foundational posts for an information kiosk the ICA has planned for the area\, and install a commemorative sign for Clark Jacobs\, the influential local climber and teacher who introduced hundreds of people to these rocks. \nA silent auction of climbing gear donated by ICA sponsors runs alongside the work\, with all proceeds going to the alliance. New this year is a gear swap that is open to the whole town. There is no cost to swap\, though donations are welcome. \nThe day runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Idyllwild Town Hall. The ICA has not posted a meeting point for the trail crews or a list of what to bring yet\, and says it will email those details to registrants a couple of weeks before the event. \nSign up for No Idyll Hands at idyllwildclimbers.org

DESCRIPTION:Tough Topanga has been sending runners up this mountain since the 1970s\, and it hasn’t gotten any easier. The classic 10k climbs 1\,198 feet through oak forests and chaparral to Hub Junction before a fast descent back to Trippet Ranch — with a timed Downhill Mile that pays $250 to the fastest female and male splits. New for 2026\, the 15k Garapito course adds 4 miles of singletrack through the canyon before rejoining the 10k route\, with a $500 winner-take-all prize purse.
