The Archipelago Ride, organized by the San Diego Mountain Biking Associaion, is a mountain biking festival/ride that connects several trail systems in San Diego (hence the island hopping metaphor).
The yearly event is organized by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association each spring and features two rides. The details of the 2021 event haven’t been announced yet, but here’s what was planned for 2020, before they had to cancel due to COVID-19:
“Full Arch” Ride: Approximatelyl 50 miles and almost 5000 feet of climbing in this point to point epic from San Marcos to Green Flash in Mira Mesa.
“Half Arch” Ride: Approximately 20 miles and over 2000 feet of climbing in this point to point cruise from Black Mountain Open Space Park to Green Flash in Mira Mesa.
Registration for the ride fills quickly, so if you’re interested it’s good to get in early.
Both rides are serious endeavors, and intermediate riding skills and appropriate conditioning are a must. The ride wraps up at Green Flash Brewing in Mira Mesa.
SDMBA members can register for the event through the organization’s website.
These guys made a video about doing the ride in 2019:
