The Archipelago Ride, organized by the San Diego Mountain Biking Associaion, is a mountain biking festival/ride that connects several trail systems in San Diego (hence the island hopping metaphor). This year’s event will be held on April 2, 2022.
The yearly event, known as the “Arch Ride” for short, is organized by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association each spring and features two rides.
“Full Arch” Ride: Approximately 45 miles and almost 4500 feet of climbing in this point-to-point epic from San Marcos to Gravity Heights Brewing in Mira Mesa.
“Half Arch” Ride: Approximately 24 miles and over 1800 feet of climbing in this point-to-point ride from Black Mountain Open Space Park to Gravity Heights Brewing in Mira Mesa. Electric mountain bikes are allowed on the Half Arch but not the Full Arch.
Registration for the ride fills quickly, so if you’re interested it’s good to get in early.
Both rides are serious endeavors, and intermediate riding skills and appropriate conditioning are a must. The ride wraps up at Gravity Heights Brewing in Mira Mesa where riders can enjoy the Finish Line Luau.
SDMBA members can register for the event through the organization’s website.
