The 2020 Women's Climbing Festival is a three-day event, from March 20-22, that takes place in and around the town of Bishop, California, in the beautiful Owens River Valley of the Eastern Sierras. Presented by Flash Foxy, the event will bring together and celebrate the growing community of women climbers. Now it its four year, the festival offers a range of clinics, workshops, meetups, film screenings and climbing sessions.
Flash Foxy was created by founder, Shelma Jun, in 2014. It is a multi-media online platform that was created to celebrate women climbing with women and to be a place where women can come to feel inspired by and connected to lady climbers. We share stories about our thoughts, experiences, and adventures as badass women.
Flash Foxy welcomes all women (cis and trans) and enbies. The festival provides women with a space for camaraderie, conversation, connection and climbing – 1) the opportunity to meet other passionate female climbers from across the country, 2) the invitation to women who may have felt intimidated for various reasons to try climbing outside to come, experience climbing outdoors and take introductory clinics in a supportive environment, and 3) the ability to gain confidence, skills and stoke, which they can take back and share at their local crags and beyond.
