XTERRA Laguna Beach

XTERRA Laguna beach is an off-road triathlon held in Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, California, that features an ocean swim, mountain bike segment, and trail run. The 2023 race will be held August 27.
The event includes a triathlon consisting of a swim, mountain bike, and trail run, as well as ocean swims and trail running races.
The mountain biking and trail running portions of the race follow routes through the mountainous inland backcountry of Crystal Cove State Park, following El Moro Canyon Trail, El More Ridge Trail, No-Name Trail, Rattlesnake Trial and others.
The event is scheduled to take place in the morning, with the first race, the 13k trail run, starting at 7:00 a.m. and the final wave of the short course race starting at 8:30 a.m.
The course maps are available on the event website, and participants can earn points towards becoming Regional Champions by finishing in the top 15 in their age group. All Regional Champions will earn a qualifying spot for the 2023 XTERRA World Championship.
Crystal Cove State Park is easily accessible from the I-5, 405, and 73 highways, and parking is available for $15.00 at the State Parks. Participants are encouraged to park in the lots rather than in the dirt.
